A modern replica, almost certainly produced for the educational or collector novelty market that expanded significantly in the 1980s alongside museum shop culture. The prototype — a mid-4th century bronze issue from the Siscia mint in present-day Sisak, Croatia — was struck during a period when Constantius II was consolidating sole rule after the deaths of his brothers and co-emperors.
The phrase referenced in the name derives from Constantine I's reported vision before the Battle of Milvian Bridge in 312 AD.
