The original KM#182 was struck at the Anhwei provincial mint during the Guangxu reign period, one of dozens of provincial coinage operations that proliferated across China following the 1887 establishment of the Guangdong mint as a model. Anhwei's output was comparatively limited, and genuine examples in any grade are scarce. This piece is a modern replica struck in copper-nickel plated steel — a material combination that did not exist in provincial Qing coinage.
