| Descrizione del rovescio | Central design features a crowned rectangular heraldic shield bearing the Norwegian lion rampant, facing left, holding a halberd, set against a vertically lined background in the field of the shield. The denomination 20 KRONER arcs above the crown, while the equivalent older value 5 SP= (5 Speciedaler) is displayed divided across the sides of the shield. The date 1874 appears below the shield. A further inscription, 124 Stk. ⚒ 1 Kil. f. G., indicating the original mintage details and the Kongsberg mint mark, is placed beneath the date. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded ring on the rim. |

The original 1874 issue marked the 25th anniversary of the Norwegian constitution of 1814 — though that framing required some creative arithmetic, as the anniversary fell in 1839 and the coin was struck 35 years later. The dual denomination reflects Norway's transitional monetary moment: the speciedaler was already being phased out in favor of the krone system, which arrived formally with the Scandinavian Monetary Union in 1875, making this original coin obsolescent almost the moment it was struck.
This 2010 replica adds nothing to that history.
