| 正面描述 | Full-length figure of Liberty striding forward, draped in flowing robes, holding a torch aloft in her right hand and an olive branch in her left, set against a rising sun with radiating rays in the field. Forty-six stars encircle the periphery, and the Capitol building appears in the left background, rendered in the high-relief sculptural style of Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The date 1933 appears in the lower field, with the legend LIBERTY inscribed above. |

This is a replica, not a coin. The 1933 Double Eagle itself was never legally released into circulation — the U.S. Treasury ordered the entire mintage melted following Roosevelt's executive order suspending the gold standard, making genuine examples federally contraband for decades. The notoriety of that story has spawned an entire cottage industry of commemorative reproductions, of which this Dutch-issued gold-plated piece is one.
