The Royal Canadian Mint produced official replicas of the George V small cent specifically for collectors who could not otherwise afford — or find — genuine circulated examples from this run. The originals, struck between 1923 and 1936, are notorious for key dates: the 1923 and 1926 issues in particular carry significant premiums, and a genuine 1936 "dot" cent remains one of the most contested rarities in Canadian numismatics, with fewer than four confirmed specimens.
