The Board of Revenue Mint in Beijing — known in Manchu as Boo-chiowan — was one of two imperially supervised central mints operating under the Qing, the other being the Board of Works. Kangxi's reign spanned nearly four decades, during which output from these mints fluctuated sharply with periodic copper shortages and wartime disruptions, including the suppression of the Three Feudatories rebellion in the 1670s. This piece is a modern replica and carries no numismatic value as a period artifact.
