Obverse description A seated female allegory, draped and laurel-crowned, writes with a stylus on a panel held by a standing nude child to her left; in her left hand she holds a shield bearing the coat of arms of the canton of Neuchâtel. The circular legend runs along the upper rim, with the engraver's signature and date inscribed in the right field.
