Central device depicting the Honduran national arms: two draped flags flanking a landscape scene featuring a volcanic mountain, a coastal harbor with sailing vessels, and fortifications in the middle ground, surmounted by a triangular cartouche enclosing a radiant sun rising over mountains. The engraver's name BARRE appears in the lower exergue. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border, with the circular legend REPUBLICA DE HONDURAS arching across the upper field and AMERICA CENTRAL along the lower field. |

Completely blank field, unfinished as befitting a trial strike, with a raised incuse rim visible near the edge. The plain, unadorned surface confirms this piece was struck as a trial or test piece without a reverse die, leaving the field devoid of any design, legend, or device. |

Trial strikes from Honduran mints in this period are poorly documented, and the 1869 quarter real sits in a particularly thin corner of the catalog. Honduras had only recently stabilized its coinage infrastructure following decades of Central American political fragmentation after the dissolution of the Federal Republic in 1839. Official trial pieces from this mint and period rarely entered systematic record-keeping, which is precisely why KM assigns the TS prefix rather than a full production number.
Survivors are essentially unquantified.
