Real 'S' - Sebastião I

正面描述	Central field dominated by a large, boldly struck Gothic capital letter 'S', the initial of King Sebastião I, rendered in a stylised calligraphic form characteristic of mid-16th-century Portuguese hammered coinage. Two six-pointed star ornaments flank the letter horizontally, positioned to the left and right of its midpoint. A further star or pellet ornament appears above the 'S' near the upper field. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, with a plain, undefined rim typical of hand-struck copper coinage of the period.

背面描述	The reverse bears a three-line Latin inscription filling the central field, reading SEBAST / IANVS / I, rendering the Latinised name and regnal number of King Sebastião I of Portugal. The legend is disposed across three horizontal lines, with the numeral I centred below the name. A pellet or rosette ornament appears above the first line of text and below the last, serving as decorative separators. The border shows traces of a dotted or beaded circle, consistent with standard Portuguese hammered copper coinage of the third quarter of the 16th century. The overall strike is characteristic of the period, with slight weakness at the periphery due to the irregular flan.
