Obverse description Crowned and enthroned frontal figure of King Pedro IV, depicted in Gothic style within a cusped quatrefoil or polylobed inner frame decorated with floral and trefoil motifs. The king is shown seated in majesty, holding a sceptre in his right hand and an orb or globus cruciger in his left, robed in royal garments. Two heraldic shields, likely bearing the arms of Aragon, flank the lower portion of the throne. The circumferential Latin legend reads + PETRUS : DEI : GRACIA : REX, separated from the central device by a beaded inner circle.
