Reverse description Central field features a bold cross pattée dividing the field into four quarters, each containing a six-pointed star or mullet, enclosed within a quatrefoil or curved inner border formed by four arcs meeting at the arms of the cross. A beaded inner circle separates this device from the surrounding peripheral legend. The circumscription ARAGONUM ET MAIORICARUM is struck in Gothic characters, identifying the king's dominions of Aragon and Majorca. A small cross pattée appears at the beginning of the legend as a mint or punctuation mark. The overall design is well-centered for a hammered issue, displaying strong relief on the central cross.
