Reverse description Quartered royal shield of Castile and Leon set within a quadrilobe or cusped inner border, displaying the characteristic alternating arrangement of castles and rampant lions. The upper-left and lower-right quarters bear the castle of Castile, while the upper-right and lower-left quarters bear the passant lion of Leon. Small circular ornaments appear at the junctions of the quarters. The royal legend encircles the shield within a beaded border, rendered in Gothic lettering consistent with the obverse.
