Reverse description Quartered arms of Castile and León displayed within a quadrilobe composed of four rounded lobes, each lobe containing one quarter of the royal shield: castles of Castile (upper left and lower right) and rampant lions of León (upper right and lower left), all rendered in high relief in the Gothic heraldic tradition. A beaded border separates the central quartered shield from the surrounding circumferential legend. The composition is enclosed by a plain outer rim, characteristic of late 14th-century Castilian hammered silver reales.
