| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a large crowned Gothic monogram 'E' (for Enrique), surmounted by a royal crown in high relief. The monogram is enclosed within a plain inner circle, surrounded by a beaded border separating the central device from the outer legend. The hammered flan is irregular in shape, with the surrounding Latin legend partially visible around the periphery, typical of medieval Castilian coinage of the Trastámara period. |
