Obverse description Frontal crowned bust of King Enrique II facing the viewer, depicted in a stylized Gothic manner with the crown prominently rendered above the royal effigy. The king's shoulders and upper drapery are visible below the face, which displays a bearded visage in low relief characteristic of 14th-century Castilian hammered coinage. The bust is set within the coin field without a defined inner border, with the surrounding circular legend separated by pellets or rosettes. The legend ENRICVS DEI GRACIA REX CASTELLE runs around the periphery in Gothic Latin lettering.
