Obverse description Central cross pattée with a ring or annulet at the terminal of each arm, set within a beaded inner circle. The overall design is characteristic of Crusader hammered coinage, with the cross rendered in low relief against a flat field. The coin's irregular flan and crude striking are typical of 12th-century Levantine mint production.
