Obverse description Crowned shield of Zürich — a diagonally divided pale of blue and white — set within a double-ringed inner circle, flanked by two curved ornamental branches forming an oval frame. The whole is surrounded by a circular Latin legend in the outer field, separated from the inner device by a beaded border. The composition reflects the municipal heraldic tradition of Swiss city coinage of the late 17th century.
