| Obverse description | Laureate head of Vespasian facing right, depicted with his characteristic mature and robust portrait. The bust is draped, rendered in the realistic veristic style typical of Flavian imperial portraiture. The encircling legend reads IMP CAES VESP AVG P M COS IIII CENS, distributed around the periphery of the flan. The portrait displays confident, naturalistic modeling of facial features consistent with Vespasian's known iconography. The flan is slightly irregular, as is characteristic of hammered silver quinarii of this period. |
