She holds a palm branch in her left hand and a wreath in her right, both attributes symbolising imperial military triumph. The figure is rendered in flowing drapery, consistent with the artistic conventions of the Rome Mint under the Flavian dynasty. The encircling legend VICTORIA AVGVSTI runs around the field, attributing the victory to the reigning emperor. The overall composition reflects the celebration of the Judean triumph of AD 70, a recurring propagandistic theme on Flavian coinage of this period. |
