Obverse description Draped bust of the youthful Liber (Bacchus) facing right, wearing an ivy wreath with corymbi over long flowing hair, the locks falling loosely onto the neck and shoulders in the Hellenistic tradition. A small bunch of grapes is visible behind the head. The magistrate's abbreviated name M CATO appears in the left field, reading downward. The whole design is enclosed within a beaded border, characteristic of late Republican quinarii.

Reverse description Victoria seated right on a throne or chair, draped, extending her right arm forward to hold a patera or wreath, with a palm branch resting over her left shoulder. To the left, a trophy hung with carnyx and shields is depicted, adorned with pendant garlands. The legend VICTRIX appears in the exergue in large, clear Latin capitals. The scene is framed by a beaded border, and the composition reflects the triumphalist iconography common to late Roman Republican coinage issued in the context of the Social War.
