Reverse description Victory personified seated right on a throne or cuirass, wearing a chiton and holding a patera or wreath in her extended right hand, with a palm frond resting against her left shoulder. The figure is rendered in the classical Roman allegorical tradition, occupying the central field within a beaded border. The abbreviated Latin legend P M TR P COS III is disposed around the field, recording Hadrian's titles as Pontifex Maximus, holder of tribunician power, and consul for the third time, corresponding to the years AD 120–121.
