Struck in 75 AD under Vespasian, this piece was issued in the name of Domitian as Caesar — not yet emperor, and still years from his accession in 81 AD. The quinarius denomination had been largely dormant since the late Republic and saw only sporadic revival under the Flavians, making the series numerically thin relative to the denarius output of the same years. RIC II.1 791 is among the better-documented Flavian quinarii, but the denomination's limited production role means die combinations are few and population reports across major collections remain modest.
