Obverse description Laureate bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, draped at the shoulder, rendered in the confident, naturalistic style characteristic of early Trajanic portraiture. The emperor's strong facial features are framed by a wreath of laurel leaves tied at the back. A beaded border encircles the field.
