Within the concave space of each C, two pellets are visible; the composition is flanked above and below by small rosette ornaments. The design is enclosed within a circular legend and is characteristic of the decorative heraldic ciphers employed on minor Gonzaga coinage of the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. |
