Reverse description Central device composed of two interlaced letter C forms, one upright and one inverted, placed back-to-back to form a decorative monogram. Within the concave space of each C, two pellets are visible; the composition is flanked above and below by small rosette ornaments. The design is enclosed within a circular legend and is characteristic of the decorative heraldic ciphers employed on minor Gonzaga coinage of the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries.
