Reverse description Central field features the Cross of Saint Maurice, rendered as a bold cross with trefoil or rounded terminals at each arm, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The cross fills the majority of the flan and is executed in a style typical of Savoyard hammered coinage of the mid-to-late sixteenth century. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device along the outer periphery of the coin.
