| Descrizione del dritto | Within a plain inner circle, the Savoyard motto FERT is displayed prominently in large Gothic letters across the central field, with a small six-pointed star or rosette ornament above and below the inscription. The surrounding legend, separated from the central device by a beaded or rope border, reads * FERT * + EM • FILIB • D • G • DVX • SAB, identifying the issuer as Emanuele Filiberto, Duke of Savoy, by the grace of God. The overall design is characteristic of the hammered billon coinage of the Duchy, with an irregular flan and uneven strike typical of mid-sixteenth-century production. |

The outer legend, separated by a beaded border, reads + P • PEDEM • 1577 • T •, indicating the Piedmont region and the Turin mint with the date 1577. Small pellets serve as punctuation marks throughout the legend. The hammered strike has produced a somewhat irregular flan with characteristic surface patination, the coin now displaying a dark olive-green cabinet tone consistent with its billon alloy and age. |
