| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a bold cross of Savoy with broadened terminals, each canton adorned with a small floral or foliate ornament. The cross is struck in high relief against a plain field. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery, separated from the design by a beaded inner border: VIC. AM. II. D. G. DVX. SAB., identifying Victor Amadeus II as Duke of Savoy by the grace of God. A rose or small ornamental stop precedes the legend. |

| Reverse description | Central device consists of the interlaced monogram of Victor Amadeus II — a large crowned cypher 'VA' surmounted by a ducal crown rendered in fine detail with floral finials. The date 1688 is disposed to either side of the monogram in the field. A beaded border frames the design, outside which the Latin peripheral legend reads PRIN. PEDE. REX. CYP., declaring the ruler's titles as Prince of Piedmont and King of Cyprus. |
