Obverse description Bare laureate head of Zeus facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic style with flowing, voluminous curly hair falling to the neck and a well-defined full beard. The portrait is boldly modelled in high relief, conveying the god's majestic character. The face shows strong, idealised features characteristic of Seleucid royal coinage of the period. The field is plain, with no legend on this side.

Reverse description An eagle with closed wings stands in three-quarter profile to the right, perched upon a thunderbolt. The bird is rendered in high relief with carefully delineated feathering on the wings and body. The Greek royal legend is disposed in two vertical columns flanking the central device, reading left and right of the eagle. The composition is typical of Seleucid bronze coinage issued under Antiochos IV Epiphanes at the Antioch mint.
