Obverse description Central device comprising a winged caduceus placed upright between two crossed cornucopiae, their voluted ends curving outward to either side of the field. The caduceus, symbol of Mercury and of imperial concordia, is rendered with spread wings at the top and intertwined serpents along the staff. The surrounding circular legend in Latin capitals runs along the periphery of the flan. The composition is set within a plain field with no exergue line, typical of Flavian anonymous quadrantes.
