Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in high relief with finely engraved hair depicted in short layered curls characteristic of Trajanic portraiture. The effigy presents a strong, idealized imperial profile with a prominent jaw and naturalistic modelling of the neck and drapery folds at the truncation. The circular Latin legend IMP CAES NERVA TRAIAN AVG runs along the periphery, contained within a beaded border that frames the entire field.
