Reverse description An owl stands to the right atop a branch, its head turned frontally to face the viewer, a characteristic pose associated with this Domitianic quadrans type. The bird is rendered with compact, stylized feathering, its talons gripping the branch below. The senatorial authorization legend S C (Senatus Consulto) appears in the field, divided to either side of the central motif, affirming the Senate's authority over base-metal coinage. The overall composition is simple and emblematic, consistent with the modest scale of the quadrans denomination. The field is otherwise plain, without additional ornament or exergual line.
