Reverse description The large senatorial mark of value S C (Senatus Consultum) occupies the central field in bold incuse letters, affirming the authority of the Senate over bronze coinage. A circular Latin legend naming the moneyers Messalla and Sisenna, together with the full mint magistrates' authority formula, runs continuously around the periphery of the flan.
