| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse features the large letters S C (Senatus Consultum — By decree of the Senate) prominently displayed in the central field, enclosed within a laurel wreath of fine workmanship. The wreath, tied at the base, frames the senatorial authorization mark that was standard on all Augustan aes coinage. Surrounding the wreath, the abbreviated legend IIIVIR A A A F F encircles the design, denoting the Triumviri Auro Argento Aere Flando Feriundo, the board of three magistrates responsible for casting and striking gold, silver, and bronze coinage. The overall composition is bold and legible, consistent with the reformed Augustan bronze coinage typology. The flan is slightly irregular with green patination typical of long-buried Roman bronzes. |
