Iulia Traducta was a Roman colonial foundation on the southern coast of Hispania, established by Augustus — almost certainly from a population transplanted from Tingi in Mauretania, possibly as early as 33 BC under Agrippa's administration of the region. The colony's coinage is tightly linked to Augustan administrative reorganization of the far western provinces, and the quadrans denomination here served the smallest everyday transactions in a garrison-adjacent community with active maritime traffic through the Strait.
The RPC I 106 attribution places this among a small, well-documented municipal series. Specimens are genuinely scarce in the market relative to better-known Hispano-Roman colonial issues.
