| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse presents a large, bold legend arranged around the central field, naming the moneyers SISENNA and GALVS as Triumviri Monetales. At center, a modius (grain measure) or similar emblematic device occupies the field, rendered in relief characteristic of Augustan-era hammered bronze coinage. The inscription is disposed across the field and around the periphery in capitals, with lettering typical of the late Republican transitional style. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, with the design struck somewhat off-center as is common for quadrantes of this period. No portrait appears; the type relies entirely on the moneyers' legend and central symbol for identification. |
