The bold, angular Kufic lettering is deeply struck in high relief, filling the available field. The absence of a mint name and the omission of Ali b. Yusuf's own name on this type is characteristic of the 'without title' classification. The irregular flan and slightly off-center strike are consistent with hammered production of the period. |
