Obverse description Central field dominated by bold Arabic calligraphy in nasta'liq script, rendered in high relief across a flat, unadorned ground. The legends reference the ruling Amir Abdur Rahman Khan and his titles, arranged in sweeping diagonal lines characteristic of Afghan coinage of this period. A crescent motif appears in the upper portion of the field. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border running along the coin's irregular periphery. The striking is typical of the Herat mint, with slightly uneven flan edges.

Reverse description The reverse displays multi-line Arabic nasta'liq legends in bold relief, occupying the full field and recording the mint name Herat (هرات) and the regnal year in the Afghan solar calendar. The text is arranged in flowing diagonal registers separated by decorative wavy lines and dot elements, consistent with Afghan silver coinage of the late 19th century. A beaded border frames the composition along the irregular coin edge. The overall engraving style is characteristic of the Herat mint under Amir Abdur Rahman Khan.
