Obverse description Crude hammered fabric with highly stylized, deeply incuse Arabic lettering occupying the central field, attributed to the reign of Abd Allah, the first Amir of Sind (870 to an unknown date). The inscription is rendered in a degenerate Kufic script, characteristic of the anonymous Qandhari damma series, with individual letter strokes arranged in an irregular, compressed composition. The flan is small and irregular, with a worn, slightly convex surface typical of heavily circulated issues of this series.
