| Obverse description | Heavily stylized and degenerate Kufic inscription occupying the full field of this small hammered silver damma, arranged in three lines reading the Shahada. The legends, derived from the classic Abbasid dirham formula, have become highly abstracted through successive die-cutting generations, with individual letter forms reduced to wedge-shaped and triangular elements radiating from a central crescent motif. The flan is irregular and slightly chipped at the rim, consistent with hand-cutting from a silver sheet. The overall design preserves the epigraphic tradition of Islamic coinage of Sind while reflecting the pronounced local stylization characteristic of late Habbarid issues. |
