Fath Shah's reign over Kashmir was anything but continuous — he was deposed, restored, and deposed again multiple times between 1489 and 1516, with rival claimants and Afghan-backed factions repeatedly seizing Srinagar. The punchshi coinage issued under his name therefore spans interruptions, making precise attribution of individual pieces to specific phases of his rule practically impossible without accompanying hoard data.
