The tamgha, a Mongol heraldic ownership symbol, is composed of a stylized trident-like device with characteristic forked upper element and a rectangular lower base, boldly struck against the flat triangular ground. Marginal elements are partially visible at the flan edges, consistent with a broader die design extending beyond the irregular flan. The die work is bold and schematic, reflecting the utilitarian character of Golden Horde fiduciary copper coinage. |

Mangu Timur ruled the Golden Horde from 1267 to 1280, and his reign marked the first period in which Horde khans issued coinage explicitly in their own names rather than deferring to the broader Mongol imperial titulature of the Great Khan. The triangle-type pul from Saqche belongs to a loose typological family of anonymous or semi-anonymous copper issues whose attribution to his reign rests primarily on stratigraphic and hoard evidence rather than explicit mint dates — hence the bracketed range extending slightly past his death.
Saqche itself was a minor mint, and its output was purely local in circulation scope.
