Obverse description Irregularly shaped hammered copper flan exhibiting heavy green patination and surface corrosion consistent with prolonged burial. The central field bears a raised Arabic legend arranged in two or three lines, with decorative Mongolian symbolic elements and ornamental devices flanking and surmounting the inscription. The script is rendered in a bold, somewhat crude die-cut style typical of provincial Golden Horde coinage, with the lettering occupying most of the available flan space. No border or inner circle is discernible. The overall strike is off-center and uneven, characteristic of mid-13th century nomadic mint production.
