Anonymous puls from the late Golden Horde period are among the most difficult coins in medieval Islamic numismatics to pin down with confidence. The proliferation of mints across the western steppe during the second half of the 14th century — many operating with minimal central oversight as the Horde fractured under dynastic infighting after Jani Beg's death in 1357 — produced an enormous variety of poorly documented bronze issues. Attribution remains contested even among specialists, and Zeno #1183 represents one of many types still awaiting a secure mint assignment.
