A small pellet is visible at the center of the shield. Teresa de Entenza inherited the county of Urgell through her mother Aurembiaix, whose own disputed succession had dragged the county through decades of Aragonese royal interference before finally stabilizing under the Entenza line. The "sharp tip of wide shield" designation distinguishes this die variety from the blunter-tipped emissions of the same reign — a distinction that matters for attributing output across what was almost certainly a single short-lived minting episode in Balaguer.
