Reverse description A palm tree rendered frontally at center, with a spreading crown of fronds and a distinctive trunk, serving as the principal device. Flanking the base of the trunk are two bunches of dates or small palm shoots. The Greek legend ΒΡΙΤ appears above, while the regnal date LΙΔ (year 14) and the abbreviation ΚΑΙ (of Caesar) are distributed in the lower field to either side of the trunk. The epigraphy and palm motif are hallmarks of Judaean prutot issued under Roman procurators during the reign of Claudius I.
