| Opis rewersu | A large Greek cross dominates the central field, serving as the primary design element commemorating the centenary of nursing in South Africa. Superimposed at the centre of the cross is a nursing lamp (an oil lamp of the Aladdin style), a traditional symbol of the nursing profession associated with Florence Nightingale. The upper arm of the cross bears the founding date '1891' and the lower arm the commemorative date '1991'.
