| 备注 |
Libya's first fully independent central bank series, issued in 1963 after the Bank of Libya succeeded the Libyan Currency Commission — which had itself only been established in 1955 following the country's UN-administered independence. The quarter pound denomination was the smallest in this Bradbury Wilkinson set, aimed squarely at everyday transaction use in an economy still heavily dependent on cash.
Bradbury Wilkinson's New Malden facility was handling a significant volume of newly independent African and Middle Eastern state commissions in the early 1960s, and the quality of intaglio work on this series reflects that peak period of their output. Paper integrity is the main condition concern — light folding damage concentrates along the horizontal center crease on circulated examples.
