Obverse description Upright bird facing right at left, grasping a fish or small animal in its talons, the prey depicted facing outward toward the viewer. The composition is rendered in the schematic, stylized manner characteristic of Belgic potin coinage. Annulets with central pellets are scattered throughout the field. The flan is irregular with a beaded border visible along the periphery.
