Anmerkungen

New Zealand's decimal conversion in 1967 left the Post Office with stocks of pre-decimal postal order blanks that couldn't simply be discarded. This 21-cent surcharge on a 10-pence order is a product of that transitional accounting — the face value was amended by overprint rather than issuing an entirely new series, a cost-driven decision that produced some of the more typographically awkward items in New Zealand postal history.

De La Rue's watermarked paper remained the security substrate regardless of the overprinted denomination.
